This is work in progress post, so please understand all of these images are just tests in my new scene.

Backlit Onyx stone test:

Elevator unit: (Lighting achieved using 2 Dome Lights)

Front structure, 1960′s. Damn complicated to simulate with V-Ray!

I cannot resist to render every single progress step I make :)

Some new 3D furniture, ready for texturing.

And the very special model – statue. Thanks for the help to my friend, Peter Masek.

Hand-drawn bump map for a 3D wall surface:

I like those ones, but they are too dramatic. So I needed to make something more reality-like (following reference photos) and thanks to procedural textures by Ivan from Pixelated Vertex, I got these results, which I consider being final.

Some green glass panels with the refraction layer to imitate the “sand glass” waves:

Wall material:

Customized Brown marble material:

Carpet tests:

New rendering from the lobby:

Some bottles:

You can find finished images here, in the portfolio post.

Pawel
Hi, I mostly use photos taken by me. This Onyx material was created by adjusting the original texture (from cgtextures) – I adjusted curves, levels and saturation. To get this backlit effect, Emissive map was created in PS.
