Hi my friends :)

It’s as bit long time since my last blog post, but I am pretty sure You understand it… as everybody else, I wish my day has 48 hours :)

I’m busy as hell working on tens of commercial projects, and of course – on preparation of my presentation for Advanced Vienna Workshop. I am very happy we reached unbelievable 25 participants! Big thanks to Fabio from 3D Dreaming, for making such a powerful campaign. (just for a comparison – we expected to get 12 people! So this is quite a success.)

Don’t forget the Barcelona event we are leading in March, so You can attend this workshop and get a big part of our knowledge in 2 days. This will be an awesome event, just remember the Barcelona 2012 workshop :)

Unfortunately, I cannot post here any of our archviz projects we are currently working on, as all of them are signed as NDA… But 2 of them will become public later this month :) It’s a Regensburg Museum by Juri Troy architekten and single family house by Vlado Hrivnak. Neat and cozy house, you’ll see :)

One of the hardest tasks of this month was our migration to the new server at Hostmonster. FlyingArchitecture makes a lot of traffic, so it was better for us to move… Besides that, new & fresh version of CMS was installed along with updated theme and framework. FlyingArchitecture should work as a breeze now :)

Even more interesting was opening of the first NURBS store ever :) This store with perfect assets for Rhinoceros is just in it’s beginnings, but I can guarantee You, there are not better models in the world for Rhino. Just download them, drag&drop to your scene and you are done. :)
I am sure this store will be very popular among the community, not only because it’s the only of it’s kind, but mostly for it’s superior quality.

Our little Vanesa reached the age of 8 months, which is the most important milestone of this blog post :)

This is just an idea for a self-reflection for all of us. (including me, of course!)
Why did we stop producing original images with deep ideas, nice compositions, interesting lighting? Why do all the scenes look the same? Why everyone uses same assets and gets the same results?

I’d say Peter Guthrie or Bertrand Benoit are really great inspirations, but guys, GUYS!!! stop copying them. Using the same assets, same settings, their models, you won’t get anything original, interesting, meaningful. It’s all just copying. Like taking a song from some known singer and sing it in Your own way. It’ll never be better than original. Deal with it.
This is not arts&crafts anymore. This is just a factory production using pre-made assets firstly dismantled and then put together without any taste.

Think about it. Think about Yourselves. Think about the future of CGI industry.

First of all, thanks to my friend Yosi for creating PNGs of conifers and uploading them to FlyingArchitecture Forum some time ago. It came to me very handy to have them as brushes for Photoshop for easy masking of Your render backgrounds. Just a simple stroke can generate non-repeating edge of any forest ;)

A 6-days full immersion program, from advanced NURBS modeling with Rhino to Vray rendering and final post-production with Photoshop.

Rhino training, 2 days (Sep 24-25)
a special program somewhere between the level 1 and level 2 standard McNeel courses, to model a scene that will be used during the rendering and postproduction sessions

VRay training, 2 days (Sep 26-27)
rendering engine settings, customized materials, lights

Postproduction, 2 days (Sep 28-29)
composition and effects with Photoshop

Official language of the workshop: English (with Italian tutor).

I am working really hard on our upcoming store items :) Can’t wait to launch the project!

My first daughter, Vanesa was born to bring a light to our lives and to make us even happier than before. This is one of the most exciting days of my life!

This is what I am really proud of :)

Because of a recent hack of FlyingArchitecture, I had to fix several bugs on the website. At the same time, I decided to make a face-lift of the FlyingArchitecture.
I used a WP-zoom theme, which fits my needs the most. What do You think?
